What is hosting?
Hosting means that you found a home for your Web site on our Web servers, which are stored in a secure, climate controlled environment and are connected to the Internet via high speed data lines.

Yes, you can host multiple websites on an CBS Hosting account. We use domain pointing to let you use your current web hosting resources for additional websites. These addtional websites can have their own distinct content, and domain name (i.e. www.newwebsite.com). They will share the same IP address, disk storage space, and bandwidth transfer of the main hosting account, as well as emails.

Yes. You can upgrade your account at any time in your Control Panel. Just click on 'Upgrade CP' and the upgrade will take place immediately!

How long after I sign up will I be able to start uploading my website?
Within 10 minutes of signing up you will receive a welcome email with all the information you need to start uploading your website, setting up your email addresses, or creating your website using our Site Creation Tool. Just use the IP address that is given in the welcome email to upload your site and view it on the web. When your domain name 'propagates' then you can start using your domain name.

Referral logs tell you the web site from which visitors reached your page. Using this information, you can tune your online advertising to maximize traffic to your site. We provide this information in the form of domain names of the referring pages (not IP addresses), making it easier to interpret and analyze. This is offered under all our plans in the Control Panel.

Do you provide dial-up Internet access?
Currently we do not. You will need local Internet access in order to maintain your Web site and retrieve email addressed to your site. Specializing in hosting service means that we do not have hundreds of modems to maintain, so we are able to devote our time and expertise to serving our customers and to focus on further improving our service and reliability.

What is considered SPAM?
SPAM is any unsolicited email. If you are going to send email to potential customers you should sign up for an 'opt-in' email list. These are lists of email addresses for people who ask to be emailed to on a specific topic, and it states that they signed up to be on that list at the beginning of the email.

Can I change my billing cycle at any time?
Yes. Just call our Sales, Billing, or Technical Support or go to the Help Desk and request the change in billing cycle. You will be credited the amount of money left on your account toward the new charge.

How will I be billed for my account?
If you paid by credit card your credit card will be charged automatically for each hosting account on the same day you signed up either monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, annually or 2 years.
If you signed up for check payment, you will be emailed an invoice. Your payment is due 30 days after you receive the invoice. You can send in your check payment to the address on your invoice or you can go to our web site and click on 'Contact' and make your check payment online using Paybycheck.

What happens when I go over the data transfer allowed on my account?
You will be notified via email when you are nearing your limit. All you have to do then is click on 'Upgrade CP' in your control panel and upgrade to a higher plan that allows more transfer, or contact us and we can add more transfer to your account. The upgrade will happen within 5 minutes.
You can easily monitor your data transfer in your control panel. And, you can have an email sent to you when you are within a limit specified by you. Just click on the 'Account Management' button in your control panel to set up this notification.

Yes. You can easily install your FrontPage extensions by going to your Control Panel and clicking on the 'FP Webadmin' button.
CBS Hosting does support simple FrontPage technical support issues. But, if you have more extensive issues with FrontPage regarding design on your site, we will direct you to Microsoft's FrontPage Technical Support.

What is the size limit of each mailbox?
We monitor mailbox sizes and if any of your email boxes goes over 10 MB you will be notified. If you use an email client such as Outlook, Outlook Express or Eudora this should not be a problem. Just be sure that you are not leaving a copy of your emails on our servers. This is generally the default setting in most email client software, but you can go to your settings to check.

If I cancel before the end of my hosting term, do I get a refund?
Refunds are calculated by charging the monthly rate for the months you have used and refunding what balance remains on your account. We do not refund partial months.
